聖經的新、舊兩約之間的這段時間的歷史雖然沒有記載在聖經中，卻對耶穌基督的事工和新約時代的歷史，有重大且深遠的影響。

大部分的時候，人都希望神能清楚地告訴我們祂的心意。但這樣的特殊啟示無論在歷史，或個人生活經驗中都不多。更多時候，神使用各種的情境，來引導人與祂互動。而屬神的人，往往能在這些神隱晦的作為中，察覺到神的心意和帶領，進而與神同工。我們往往在回顧過去，在歷史的長河中，能觀察到神的作為，與神引領人的方式。

本課程希望引導學員在兩約之間這段約四百年的時間中，觀察到神的作為。看出神如何推動歷史，預備祂的愛子耶穌基督完成救恩的舞台。期盼在這個過程中，每個弟兄姊妹能親身見證神的偉大、祂的慈愛、憐憫。更進一步培養出在自己生命中覺察聖靈工作的眼光，更放心，也更願意將自己的生命完全交託在神的旨意中。並再次向神委身，成為神繼續在這世代推動祂事工的器皿。
